What do I need a guide for?

Fly fishing for trout and grayling in alpine rivers is not an easy undertaking. Fish can be difficult to spot, are easily spooked, or you just don't know which pattern to use. The vast amount of rivers and rather complex German fishing regulations can make it difficult to even get to the fish.

This is where an experienced local guide can really make life easier and enjoyable on the water.
We have fished the waters we guide on for many years and always give our very best to provide you with a great day of fishing. But fly fishing isn't always just about catching fish. We can also help improve your casting techniques on the water tailored to the fish you are fishing for.

In most German states, a state fishing licence is required. Even for tourists from outside of Germany, a tourist licence must be applied for and purchased before starting to fish. In addition, the rivers or lakes you wish to fish on require a permit from its owner. We will check to make sure you have the right paperwork before you start to fish. If you require our assistance in obtaining the right paperwork, please reach out to us.
